Banaras, A Mystic Love Story

Banaras is not a destination its a journey of our lives. If you go to watch this movie for a ready-made solution or only to "kill" two hours, you may get disappointed. Banaras is aimed to create a thirst for something one is generally uncomfortable to explore.

Dammed humanity

Cruel, selfish and compassionless species?

What’s gone wrong with us?

Today morning, a confused leopard wanders from what is left of its habitat (which is being encroached every day by we the humans) into a colony in Nasik (150 km north of Mumbai, close to Panchvati, where once Ram and Sita spent time during their exile in the jungle). As soon as it is discovered by the residents, all hell breaks loose on the fate less and hapless leopard.

Forest officers (who are paid to protect these magnificent creations of God) are called in to catch the animal. The police too join in to enjoy the party. Camera crews rush to broadcast the “reality show”.

Leopard runs for his life… away from the people but finds itself locked within the compound walls. Restless and nervous it runs around and harmlessly pretends to attack some of the men. Three people get some scratches. Poor animal runs for 9 hours nonstop trying to evade the inevitable.

The dance of death reaches its finale. “Tamasha” reaches its climax as the doomed creature is captured to the utter delight of all the humans assembled. Not satisfied with the mere capture, they poke sticks into the trapped and completely pinned animal.

The exhausted leopard finally succumbs to the raw, inhuman and sadistic cruelities of the psychopaths and eventually leaves for a better place. (May its soul rest in heaven)

I am sad and very angry with myself because I identify myself as a human belonging to the same specie that all those marauders were.

I am ashamed to be a human who kill the innocent, helpless, harmless and the defenseless, to derive pleasure out of their primitive and deplorable deeds.

We, the dammed humans!
May God show some mercy on us.

Dear Sir, I guess you are a vegetarian then. Me too and I want all rational human beings who can manage to suvive without meat to be vegetarians.
